European Union (EU) identifies waste prevention and management as one of top priorities. It is an essential part of Chapter 22 "Environment" that was closed during negotiations on accession of Bulgaria to EU. Waste management aims at protection of mankind and environment.
According to Waste Management Act (WMA), Environment Law and other regulations, in January 2007 our team started a procedure for taking out a license under Article 38 of WMA.
We developed a program for the management of waste generated by Toner Stream/ ET Koral - Miroslav Georgiev. In April 2007, our company's program was approved by a decision of RIEW - Sofia. The first phase of the procedure was completed successfully.
When developing the waste management program, we took in consideration the top priorities in National Waste Management Program such as waste prevention, recycling and reuse, improving final disposal and monitoring, etc. Our main objective is contribution to mutual efforts for preventing and reducing amount of waste generated. Underlying purposes in our program are:
- Not to endanger human health;
- Not to cause pollution and/ or negative impact on either animal world or vegetable kingdom;
- To contribute for reducing and/ or limiting the amount of waste generated and its negative effects;
- To increase the general amount of waste utilized by premising their recycling and/ or reuse;
- To turn over to third parties the waste generated for its ecofriendly utilizing;
- To monitor and report the waste management activities;
- To inform the publics.
